About the Position
We are currently looking for a Synthetic Organic Chemist who can perform complex and diverse organic synthesis, purifications, and characterization under the supervision of the Head of R&D.
Key Job Responsibilities and Duties
- Get involved with the team to develop and create new synthesis routes and technologies for targeted organic molecules.
- Develop analytical methods and interpret data to characterize the synthesized molecules using NMR, HPLC, GCMS, LCMS, etc.
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of all analytical work and present findings to the team in a well-organized manner.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and emerging technologies in chemical synthesis.
- Positively represent company values while keeping departmental goals in mind.
- Keep complete and accurate records of all observations, measurements, techniques, procedures, and conclusions in the laboratory notebook.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Master’s in chemistry with 0–3 years experience or a BSc degree with 1–3 years of experience in organic synthesis.
- Strong interest in synthetic organic chemistry with a hard-working mindset.
- Understand physical and chemical properties of raw materials and reagents; can select reaction conditions by referring to literature.
- High proficiency with TLC, column chromatography, recrystallization, and purification methods.
- Experience in Flash Chromatography, HPLC, LCMS, and NMR characterization of reaction products.
- Work on multiple projects of varying complexity.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated and passionate about targeted therapies/API in a fast-paced startup environment.
